The Oporto Episcopal Palace is a baroque building located next to the Cathedral. Its original construction dates back to the 13th century. It was there that in 1386 the marriage of Dom Joao I with D. Filipa de Lencastre was celebrated, sealing the Treaty of Windsor.
The Palace was undergoing works throughout the following centuries, but it was in the 18th century that they had more importance mainly with the reconstruction projected by Nicolau Nasoni, which never got to be completed and the traces have been altered.
Today you can visit and be witness to its rich history and its rich interior decorative elements.
